in the past, i could build a couple of quad-koms before starting the mission. i could loop a rope over three or four fences and slowly work my way up, unnoticed and before i was actually spotted. if i couldnt reach the top on a rope i would just resort to scaling up a small cliff, then cutting from the top of the cliff and jumping into the mission area. in those cases where i needed some static cover to protect me, i would just fall back into cover, except when i needed to be observed.
since ravage, i have been forced to improvise new tactics. in one scenario, i had to drive a truck to a bridge and use the ladders along the bridge to scale its top.
there are 12 missions in all. theyre worth an average of 15-20 points each and, on average, take around 35 minutes to complete. theyre all well-thought-out scenarios from the same authors, and as with the base game, the choice of missions is a tad more limited. missions to infiltrate enemy held areas, things of that nature, but they dont get too far away from the core arma gameplay. i am also really hopeful that bis add some more by the time they finish the first major expansion.
the scenarios require different play styles. recon missions are about being sneaky, and you have to plan on it, whether it be the methods to reach your target or the identity of your target. the targets can be vehicles, outposts or combat forces. you can kill them if you need to, but its mostly for information. the idea is to scope them out and get the information. there are four objectives in all.
the easiest one is to drive a vehicle to a target and then blow it up. of course, that rarely happens in the real world, but you get the picture. the second is to rescue a captive, and thats also a simple task. the third is to gather information, including intel that can be used for directing further operations. the fourth is to destroy an enemy base, vehicle, or other high-value target. the latter can involve teamwork between two or more of you. its standard force triage, except with pillows, parachute, drones, or remote controlled mecha (or robot dogs of course).

dayz mod assets by anegondayz is probably the most famous mod in arma 3. by copying the original textures and creating the highest-quality assets you can find in a 3d modeling software, anegon was able to create some very convincing massive environments.
he’s also extended the dayz mod to be more than a mere retexture. his work has involved the addition of new high-res models, sounds, new world building tools, and even a completely overhauled vegetation editor that’s able to duplicate terrain, biomes, and missions in-game. an environment editor can also be found in the game, allowing you to easily create new ones for your own personal needs or for export if youre making a mission addon.
most of his work can be found in the arma 3 mod editor, a tool that makes it easy to add his content to any of your own maps. it also contains all the tools and templates that anegon has created. also, many of his own mission editors are now open to the public, and in a matter of minutes you can be exporting missions for your own personal use or, if you wish, for export to other players.
