Advances in cancer treatment are associated with increased life expectancy and increased complexity of care requirements for patients with advanced cancer. The administration of adequate analgesia can prolong survival and improve quality of life. Since a cancer diagnosis can be perceived as a death sentence, a death that is not accompanied by a death certificate is termed an ‘end-of-life’ death. The loss of life can result from failure to address the clinical needs of the dying patient. It is the purpose of this study to investigate the care administered to patients prior to and immediately following a death and to describe its quality and efficiency in the management of terminal cancer patients. This was a prospective study of 90 patients who were discharged from in-patient care within 10 days of death. Patient charts were reviewed to determine the cause of death, sequence and timing of care, and timing of patient acceptance of a death certificate. The death was preceded by a median of 29 days in hospital, with a range of 10 to 200 days. The median time between the patient’s acceptance of death and the death certificate was 3 days with a range of 0 to 30 days. The patient’s family was the source of the death certificate in 92.2% of cases. Of the 90 patients, 18 (20%) were in intensive care when they died. The median time for in-hospital death was 76 days, with a range of 36 to 208 days. A total of 31 (34%) patients died without admission to the ICU. The median time between death and return of the patient’s family to the home was 28 days, with a range of 2 to 71 days. The median time required to identify and pronounce the patient’s death was 1 day, with a range of 0 to 5 days. All patients received appropriate antemortem comfort care. No one was without antemortem pain relief. Eighteen patients died without appropriate prior care. The median time from diagnosis to death was 6 days, with a range of 2 days to 70 days. Most patients were admitted to the hospital within 7 days of diagnosis. Patients with advanced cancer can experience a multidimensional loss of life, including psychological, social, spiritual, and emotional stress. Unexpected behavior when using ImageReader

I am trying to read images from an asset file and using the ImageReader.
I can do this with no problems, but when I try to set a circular crop via the ImageReader, it gives back a CropInfo with a very unexpected location.
For example, I have an image “badlogo.png”. I then do
logoImageView.setImageBitmap(ImageReader.getReader(this, R.drawable.badlogo).getImageUri(0))

and I end up with a CropInfo like the following

Of course, the coordinates are way off. After doing some digging I found out that the image is not scaled and rotated to match the viewport dimensions.
I was expecting the coordinates to match the screen size, but no, it seems the returned CropInfo reports the width and height of the camera view port.
I can’t quite understand why this happens, so I will appreciate any comment or insight.

One possible issue that I’m aware of is that some devices will put the cropping metadata on the top of the data stored in the asset. A way to check and see if this is the case is to print out the data you are pulling out
